Fifty years in one town

I have lived in Cornwall for more than fifty years. I opened businesses here, raised my children here, volunteered here, and served this town in office. Here is what that record actually looks like.

▬ More than fifty years as a Cornwall resident, and the proud mother of two Cornwall Central graduates.

▬ Small business owner in this town: Butterhill Day School, Uptown Butterhill, and the Cornwall Deli.

▬ Former Town Supervisor. I have already done this job, so I know the budget calendar, the county relationships, and the state mandates.

▬ Twelve years on the Town Board, including service as Deputy Town Supervisor.

▬ Past President of the Cornwall Lions Club, where the work is done quietly for neighbors who need it.

▬ Past President of the Chamber of Commerce, working for the businesses that keep Main Street lit.

▬ Past President of the YWCA, serving women and families in this community.

▬ Voted to adopt the 2019 Comprehensive Plan and the zoning that followed it, protecting Cornwall from high density over development.

▬ Expanded the potential for commercial development instead, because growing ratables is how a town holds its tax rate down.

▬ Sat through the long budget nights and cast recorded votes that any resident can look up today.

A different voice at the table

I’m not running to control Town Hall. I’m running to ask questions, examine the numbers, challenge assumptions, listen to residents, and vote for what I believe is in Cornwall’s best interest.

Our family chose Cornwall. Then Cornwall became home.

Our family relocated to Cornwall in 2001. We chose this town because it represented what we believed a community should be: tree-lined streets, welcoming neighborhoods, outdoor spaces, good schools, and friendly people. We did not know a single person here when we arrived. That did not take long to change.

As our family grew, we faced a choice many families make: move to a larger house, potentially outside Cornwall, or stay. We chose to renovate and expand our home because by then our family had come to love this town too much to leave.
